Written by Adam Fisher

Pardee Hospital is honored to be named a recipient of the Healthgrades 2015 Patient Safety Excellence Award. The distinction places this elite group of hospitals within the top 10% of all hospitals evaluated for their excellent performance in safeguarding patients from serious, potentially preventable complications during their hospital stays.

Pardee has also received recognition from Healthgrades for the Healthgrades Joint Replacement Excellence Award for 9 Years in a row (2007-2015), named among the Top 10% in the Nation for GI Medical Treatment in 2015, and named among the Top 10% in the Nation for Women's Health 2 Years in a Row (2013-2014).

This type of recognition means so much to our Pardee team because it shows that our focus on patient safety and quality care is making a positive difference. There is nothing more important than those who entrust Pardee Hospital to provide their healthcare and we are honored to serve our county, stated Denis Lucas, Vice President of Clinical Services and Chief Nursing Officer.

Healthgrades patient safety rating evaluates the safety and quality of care at a hospital by measuring the rate at which serious, potentially preventable complications and adverse events occurred in the hospital. Healthgrades uses Medicare inpatient data from Medicare Provider Analysis and Review database and evaluates all short-term, acute-care hospitals over a three year (2011-2013) period. In 2015, there were 467 hospitals across the nation that achieved the Healthgrades Patient Safety Excellence Award.

Healthgrades, headquartered in Denver, Colorado, is the leading online resource for comprehensive information about physicians and hospitals.
