National Doctors' Day was first observed on March 30, 1933 in Winder, Georgia. This date commemorated a monumental event in 1842 when Crawford W. Long, M.D. of Jefferson, Georgia administered the first ether anesthetic for surgery. The patient awoke when the surgery was over and swore he felt nothing during the surgery.
If you're like most people, your doctor has seen you through a multitude of diagnoses, healing moments and personal milestones. Now there's a special way to thank your doctor and give back to your community's health at the same time. You can honor your favorite doctor or doctors or physicians' group on Doctors' Day - March 30, 2014 - by making a tribute gift to Pardee Hospital Foundation.
Once your donation is made, the doctor you are honoring will receive a special tribute card from the Foundation that includes your name. Your charitable gift will be used to purchase life-changing medical equipment and to fund programs that will help Pardee Hospital continue to provide the highest quality care for you and your neighbors. It's easy to do. Just click here and it will direct you to our online donation form. Select the "Gift in Memory or Honor of" section and type in your physician's name. Feel free to include a brief comment on your donation form, and we will be happy to share it with your doctor.
