Cardiac Rehabilitation “Phase II” is
a comprehensive, monitored exercise and education
program that is recommended for people following heart
surgery
or other heart problems.
The program includes medically-supervised
exercise, educational classes and materials, counseling
and group support. The cardiac rehab team includes
registered nurses, an exercise physiologist, registered
dietitian, mental health professional, pharmacist,
stress management/mental health specialist and medical
director.
The cardiopulmonary rehab program meets three times per week on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays for one hour. The meetings include education, dietary and lifestyle consultations and monitored exercise, as well as ongoing training in stress management and the monitoring of lab work and medication. After three months, participants are encouraged to move into the cardiac rehab maintenance program in order to maintain their cardiovascular fitness and overall health.
Medicare and most insurance companies cover the costs of this outpatient program. Physician referral is required. The center is located in Hendersonville on Thompson Street in the East Ridge Shopping Center
