In our continued efforts to help fight the incidence of breast cancer in our community, the Breast Center at Pardee Hospital gives women and men access to the most advanced breast diagnostic and treatment services available today. Features of the Breast Center at Pardee include:
State-of-the-Art Detection Technology
- Digital mammography, allowing radiologists to view highly-detailed images of the breast immediately (also providing a more comfortable experience for the patient)
- Upgraded stereotactic biopsy equipment, providing rapid diagnosis of suspicious tissues, and accompanying ultrasound, giving an accurate picture that can be used to direct the biopsy
- Breast MRI, offering specialized imaging for alternate views of the chest area
- Positron Emission Tomography (PET)/ CT Imaging Scanner, detecting cancer in its earliest stages and helping to determine the best treatment option
Advanced & Innovative Treatment Options
- Lumpectomy and mastectomy surgeries performed in state-of-the-art surgical facilities
- Chemotherapy treatments
- Intensity-modulated radiation therapy, allowing higher, more effective doses of radiation to be delivered to tumors while minimizing exposure to healthy tissues and organs
- National clinical treatment trials that are typically only available at some of the state’s leading university medical centers
