Kim Todd
Hodgkins Lymphoma Survivor & Pardee Employee

Oddly enough, a car accident in 2003 actually helped save my life. Right after the accident, I was taken to Pardee for a chest X-Ray to see if the accident had caused any damage, and they found a tumor on my chest. They immediately performed a CT scan and within a few days, I discovered I had Hodgkins Lymphoma. Less than a week after that, I was already beginning treatment for the disease. My doctor at Pardee told me it’s a highly curable form of cancer when caught in the early stages and mine was thankfully caught in the early stages.

Throughout my whole ordeal with cancer, I felt like I was a priority to my doctors and the staff at Pardee, and that’s how you want to feel when you’re faced with cancer. My entire care team was compassionate, extremely competent and supportive. They took the time to explain everything to me in detail and thoroughly answered all of my questions. I continue to have regular follow-up visits with my doctor so he can measure my progress and monitor for any recurrence.

In addition to my excellent cancer care team, the support of my co-workers at Pardee was a tremendous part of my recovery. They were like an extension of my family, always there to offer words of encouragement and by my side the entire time. When I was going through chemo treatments and losing my hair, several of my co-workers shaved their own heads in a show of support.

I strongly believe that the compassion and expertise of my team of cancer specialists, combined with the support of my fellow co-workers at Pardee, contributed to the positive outcome of my experience with cancer.
