The Comprehensive Cancer Center at Pardee
uses the most advanced technology and
proven techniques to provide excellent
care to cancer patients. Available technology
includes:
- Linear accelerator with
intensity-modulated radiation therapy
(IMRT) capability,
which allows higher, more effective
doses of radiation to be delivered
to tumors while minimizing exposure
to healthy tissues and organs.
- Positron Emission Tomography (PET) imaging
scanner
- Digital mammography
- MRI
and CT scanners
- Nuclear medicine

- Brachytherapy
(prostate seed implants)
- Modern surgical
facilities
- Precise chemo and drug therapies
Pardee is one of only two medical
centers performing cancer clinical
trials in
western North Carolina. The center
participates in national research studies
and clinical trials that offer patients
access to the newest therapies available
at some of the nation’s leading
university medical centers. Pardee
is active in clinical trials on many
forms of cancer and in cancer prevention.
The Comprehensive Cancer Center at
Pardee is a member of the Southeast
Cancer Control Consortium, which links
the hospital to research through the
National Cancer Institute.
