What is the Pardee ICU/Caring Connection Program?
The Pardee ICU/Caring Connection Program is designed to
assist family members of critically ill patients in Pardee
hospital’s Intensive Care Unit through education and
support during this stressful time. The program has been
made possible through a grant by the CHEST
Foundation, Pardee
Hospital and Pardee
Foundation. Our goals are:
- To better prepare a multi-disciplinary team to meet the needs of families of ICU patients.
- To provide a comfortable environment to family members while waiting between visits with loved ones.
- To communicate more effectively with family members and include them in the decision-making needs for the care of the patient.
- To increase family satisfaction with care of loved ones.
- To improve the families’ understanding of the diagnosis and treatment of the critically ill patient.
What is the Intensive Care Unit?
The Pardee ICU is a specialized 12-bed unit where patients with medical, surgical or cardiac problems receive maximum medical attention and care twenty-four hours a day from critical care nurses.
The latest technology, advanced life-support equipment, highly skilled nurses, technicians, and support staff work together as a TEAM to create the therapeutic environment for care.
