Henderson County is a rapidly growing area that has attracted those looking for a gentle climate, beautiful scenery, countless opportunities for outdoor recreation and a friendly, mid-sized community.

By the most recent census figures (2000), the county population is 89,173 with a median age of residents being 42.7 years. The area public school system offers 16 elementary schools and 4 secondary schools. There are eight private schools and open charter school. The county is home to Blue Ridge Community College, and graduate-level curriculum opportunities are available in Hendersonville through Western Carolina University.

Margaret R. Pardee Memorial Hospital is the second largest employer in Henderson County, with 1,350 employees. There are 257 physicians and dentists on the hospital’s medical staff, representing 30 medical specialty areas.
