The physicians at Western Carolina Medical Associates
are board certified and have full admitting
privileges at Pardee
Hospital. Our staff consists of carefully selected
and
trained individuals to help meet the health care needs of you and your family. We work as a team
to offer courteous, compassionate and professional
service to our patients.
We offer comprehensive health and medical services to people of all ages, from newborns and young children to adults and seniors. Services include:
Patients are seen by appointment. Please call during office hours to schedule an appointment. New patients should arrive 30 minutes early to fill out patient information forms. Time has been allotted especially for you, so please make every effort to be on time for your appointment. A 24 hour notice of cancellation is requested.
If you have an emergency after normal office hours, call Pardee Hospital at (828) 696-1000 and ask the operator to page the on-call physician for WCMA. If necessary, the physician may direct you to the Emergency Department at Pardee. Remember to always dial 911 for life-threatening situations that need immediate attention.
Fees for office visits are based on the time spent, as well as the complexity of the medical problem. Payment is expected at the time of your visit. We accept cash, check, VISA or Mastercard. Our office files health insurance claims as a courtesy to you. On your initial visit, you will be asked to complete the appropriate insurance forms and present a copy of your insurance card(s).
We accept Medicare assignment and participate with a number of managed care programs. It is your responsibility to notify the front desk staff if your insurance program requires prior approval for treatment. Western Carolina Medical Associates will not be responsible for claims that are unpaid because the insurance program was not notified. We will assist you in contacting the insurance program so that your claim will be covered. Carolina Access Medicaid patients must present their card with each visit, and the plan must list WCMA as a PCP. Claims not paid within 60 days of filing become the patient’s responsibility.
