Pardee Comprehensive Cancer Center Physicians Named Best Doctors in NC

W. Mark McCollough, M.D., William D. Medina, M.D., and James E. Radford, M.D., were recently nominated by their peers as three of the best doctors in North Carolina. The physicians were named to Business North Carolina’s Best Doctors list, which is 1ed in the monthly publication. Dr. McCollough is board-certified in radiation oncology and is one of only two radiation oncologists in WNC to make the list. Dr. Medina is board-certified in internal medicine and medical oncology. Pardee Midwifery - "All of the ladies are so wonderful!"

Here is a link to a great blog post we found. It gives a little insight to what the experience with Pardee Nurse-Midwifery is like at our hospital. Let us know if you have had a nurse midwife and what your experience was like. You'll see Barb Davenport in the blog post, here is a video we filmed a month ago of her speaking about nurse midwifery.

Toys for Tots drive a great success

As always, Pardee associates went above and beyond bringing dozens of toys for the Toys for Tots drive last Thursday, Dec. 9. The drive was a huge success! Associates had a great time at the Holiday reception mingling, munching, and having punch and eggnog all served by the directors. During the celebration, Myra Grant, VP Community Accountability and Philanthropy, presented SSGT Wes Russell a check on behalf of Pardee Hospital for WNC Toys for Tots. Thank you to everyone who participated in this year's "Season of Giving" campaign. [gallery link="file" order="DESC"]

Santa stops by Pardee

Santa made a stop at Pardee to visit with patients one evening before things got too busy at his workshop.  Here are a few photos from his visit.  You never know when he might stop by again! [gallery link="file" order="DESC" columns="2"]

Thank you - Pardee Auxiliary Volunteers

The many decorations you see throughout the hospital come from the help of our wonderful volunteers. The Pardee Auxiliary volunteers decorate eleven trees each year. These trees are located at the main entrance, lobby, admitting, radiology, rehab, day surgery, the ICU waiting area, the Women & Children’s center, orthopedics, the ED and the Comprehensive Wound Center. The volunteers give additional time to decorate the trees each year. In addition to the Pardee Auxiliary, the Land of Sky Garden Club sends volunteers to decorate behind the information desk in the main lobby, setting up trees next to the elevators on the ground floor and decorating the atrium on the way to radiology. Many hours are donated to ensure Pardee is decorated and festive each year. We would like to take a moment and thank those who are a part of making this happen. We appreciate your time and hard work.
