Pardee Welcomes Anesthesiologist, Joshua Paschke

Pardee Hospital is proud to announce that Joshua K. Paschke, D.O., an anesthesiologist, recently joined its medical staff, and is currently accepting new patients at Piedmont Anesthesia Associates in Hendersonville. Dr. Paschke received his medical degree from Ohio University College of Osteopathic Medicine in Athens. Ohio. He completed his residency at Doctors Hospital in Columbus, Ohio. Dr. Paschke is an outdoor enthusiast, and enjoys hiking, soccer and mountain biking. He serves on the active medical staff at Pardee Hospital. “I really look forward to my new life and career in Western North Carolina,” said Paschke. -CJP

Pardee Pain Center to open in September

Pardee Hospital will open the Pardee Pain Center this September, to serve patients in the community with chronic pain.  The Pardee Pain Center will be open from 8:30 a.m. until 5 p.m., on Thursdays and Fridays.  Patients will be seen by appointment with a physician referral only.  The center will be located on the ground floor of the hospital near the Garden Café on Fleming St. “The Pardee Pain Center will truly be an asset to the community and I am thrilled to be a part of this new center.  We will provide advanced pain management to our patients with the high quality of care you have come to expect from Pardee,” said Edward Lewis, M.D., medical director, Pardee Pain Center. The Pardee Pain Center will provide comprehensive pain management including diagnostic therapy, X-ray guided diagnostic and therapeutic injections, minimally invasive disc decompression procedures, surgical implementation of spinal cord stimulators and intrathecal pain pumps.

Pardee Pavilion to host presentation on Alzheimer’s disease

Pardee Pavilion Adult Day Health Services is hosting a free educational presentation on Alzheimer’s disease and memory loss on Monday, Aug. 16, from 10 a.m. until noon. The presentation entitled, “Questions about Memory Loss” will be held at the Pardee Pavilion located at 114 College Dr. in Flat Rock, adjacent to Blue Ridge Community College.  Light refreshments will be served.  Registration is required by calling (828) 697-7070. Participants will learn about Alzheimer’s disease and related causes of memory loss and community resources for families affected by memory loss.  This event is provided by, the Alzheimer’s Association (Mountain Regional office), Land-of-Sky Regional Council’s Family Caregiver Support program, and Pardee Pavilion Adult Day Health Services.
