Joyce Maybin, R.N., RNC-OB, IBCLC staff nurse and lactation consultant with Pardee Women and Children’s Center, and Debbie Austin R.N., CCRN, CPAN staff nurse in the Post Anesthesia Recovery Unit, were recently named as two of The Great 100 Nurses of North Carolina for 2010.

These extraordinary nurses were selected by their peers for their continued excellence in patient care and commitment to the nursing profession. Pardee Hospital is proud to honor Maybin and Austin’s achievement and to have them serve on our team of dedicated and compassionate nurses. The Great 100 is a grassroots peer recognition organization honoring the nursing profession in North Carolina. The organization annually acknowledges 100 North Carolina nurses who demonstrate excellence in practice and commitment to their profession, and contributes scholarships funds for registered nurse education. “We are extremely fortunate to have Joyce and Debbie working at Pardee, and we’re pleased that they are being recognized in this most significant way at the state level,” said Pat Ashe, vice president of nursing for Pardee Hospital.

Maybin and Austin will be honored during the Great 100 Gala on Saturday, Sept. 18, at the Greensboro Coliseum in Greensboro, N.C.
