, "The Diabetic Chef", was at the Pardee Health Education Center
on Friday, June 3 for a cooking demonstration focusing on preparing and purchasing foods for individuals with diabetes and their families. Chris showcased three recipes and demonstrated how to prepare these recipes from start to finish. Recipes included simple chicken, seared and baked in the oven, maple carrots, and Chris's own version of strawberry shortcake made with fresh strawberries and toasted angel food cake croûtons for dessert. The audience of nearly 50 participants were able to purchase a Chris Smith cookbook and have it signed by the author after the cooking event.
