N.C. Healthcare Power of Attorney Workshop

On Sat., Sept. 11, from 2 until 4 p.m., Pardee Hospital and Compassion & Choices will offer a free workshop on the N.C. healthcare power of attorney document. The workshop will be held at the Pardee Health Education Center
, located in the Blue Ridge Mall. A health care power of attorney document is based on N.C. law and allows an individual to appoint someone to act as their healthcare agent to make their health decisions should it be determined by a physician that they are no longer able to make these decisions for themselves. This workshop will help participants better understand this important document. Documents, notaries and witnesses will be available so that attendees may leave with a legal document. Medical rights will also be covered in this workshop.” Participants need to bring a valid drivers license and proof of identification. All attendees must arrive by 2 p.m. in order to participate.
