Pardee Foundation will host its 17th Annual Tournament of Champions Golf Tournament at Kenmure Country Club in Flat Rock on Monday, May 14.
“The lead sponsor of this year’s event is UNC Health Care, which began a management relationship with Pardee Hospital last year,” said William Lapsley, co-chair of the 2012 Tournament of Champions. “As a member of Pardee Hospital’s Board of Trustees, I have seen first-hand how committed Pardee Hospital’s physicians, nurses and staff are to providing excellent care to the residents of Henderson and neighboring counties. The medical staff at Pardee truly cares about each patient and the equipment the tournament will purchase will enhance that care.”
The event will feature a 9-hole tournament with a shotgun start at 9:30 a.m. and an 18-hole tournament with a shotgun start at 1 p.m. The format will be four-person captain’s choice teams with prizes given for longest drive and closest to the pin. Entry fees are $125 for the 9-hole tournament and $250 for the 18-hole tournament. Fees include golf, lunch and player gifts. An awards banquet is also included with the 18-hole tournament that will follow that evening.
Proceeds from this year’s charity tournament will help purchase two new mobile x-ray units that create instant digital views for Pardee physicians to diagnose seriously injured and critically ill patients with and increased comfort.
Pardee Foundation’s tournament has raised more than $1.3 million at Kenmure Country Club since 1996. Every dollar Pardee Foundation raises for Pardee Hospital is invested back into the hospital to improve patient care through purchases of new medical equipment, renovations and expanded services.
