Pardee Hospital is now accepting applications for the 2014 Junior Volunteer Summer Program. The Junior Volunteers provide an important service to the individuals they serve, and to the community as a whole.
The program’s primary goals are to teach the value of community service and to expose our Junior Volunteers to the healthcare field. Qualities that we are looking for in our Junior Volunteers include dependability, promptness, honesty and professionalism. Junior Volunteer responsibilities include but are not limited to escorting patients and visitors to their destinations, transporting patients and visitors in wheelchairs, working in the Garden Café, Orchard’s Café and assisting in various other departments.
In order to participate in the Junior Volunteer Summer Program, potential volunteers must be at least 14 years of age by April 1, 2014. The 2014 summer schedule runs from Monday, June 16th (Junior Volunteer orientation day) to Friday, August 8th. Junior Volunteers are expected to work at least four hours per week (Monday through Friday) between 8:00am and 4:00pm. Junior Volunteers will not volunteer on weekends.
Completed applications and documents must be turned in by April 16. Orientation will begin on June 16. Program applicants must complete a Pardee Hospital Junior Volunteer Program Application, Junior Volunteer Health Form, Junior Volunteer Reference Form and a Junior Volunteer Questionnaire and Pledge Form.
