Pardee Hospital Foundation will hold its 19th Annual Tournament of Champions on Monday, May 5, at Kenmure Country Club in Flat Rock.
The goal of the 2014 Tournament of Champions is to raise $85,000 to help Pardee Hospital purchase a new BK Medical Flex Focus 400 Urology Ultrasound unit with superb imaging capabilities to detect the early signs of prostate cancer in a less invasive process.
"Being surrounded by individuals and professionals that truly care so much about the well-being and health of the people in their community is why I am a part of and support the Pardee Hospital Foundation. It's truly a blessing to know that what you do today and the time you spend will be used to possibly save a life tomorrow, and that my friends is what it's all about," said Mark Staicar, co-chair of the 19th annual tournament of champions, Vendor Sales Manager for Pepsi-Cola Bottling Company.
This year, there are two 18-hole tournaments: the first starting at 8 a.m., and the second at 1:30 pm. Captain's Choice teams comprised of four players will be the format for each tournament with prizes given for longest drive and closest-to-the-pin for the day.
The tournament entry fee is $275 per player. Entry fees include the round of golf selected, lunch and player gift. An awards banquet will follow the 1:30 p.m. tournament.
Sponsorships and player spots are still available. Sign-ups are on a first come, first served basis.
