Groundbreaking of Health Campus Site

More than 100 people, including hospital administrators, city and county officials, medical staff and members of the community, were on hand Friday for a celebration that marked the groundbreaking of an  innovative healthcare campus, which will be located at 2651 Hendersonville Road in Fletcher. Today’s groundbreaking was the culmination of more than three years of planning. The 80,000-square-foot outpatient facility, on U.S. 25 at the Henderson and Buncombe county line, is expected to open in 2013. It will house clinical services and physician offices and provide patients with easy access, and high-quality, low-cost healthcare to northern Henderson County and Southern Buncombe County. Here is a quote from Mayor Bill Moore on www.blueridgenow.com, "This shows you the area is growing,” he told the crowd of local leaders, hospital officials and community members. Improving customer access to health care is important as the town grows, he added, as “This will bring jobs to the area and create jobs.” Article from Times-News is here. Pardee volunteers build a house :: Habitat for Humanity

This last weekend, our team of over 45 volunteers from Pardee showed up on a chilly Saturday morning to work on a Habitat for Humanity house in Shuey Knolls. That morning we stood gripping cups of steaming coffee, huddling around the foundation of the house listening to Alan from Habitat give instructions for the day. After the briefing, we set forth armed with tool belts stuffed with nails and wielding hammers to raise the walls and get the house ready for trusses. The team worked all day and had a great time with the folks from Habitat. Thanks again to everyone who helped and took part, it was a huge team effort and the results were fantastic. A Note Of Thanks To Pardee Home Care

We received the message below from a patient expressing her sincere thanks to Pardee Hospital’s Home Care services.   It’s always great to hear about such a wonderful experience. September 15, 2011 To The Staff at Pardee Home Care, I would like to express my whole hearted thanks to the members of the Pardee Home Care team who helped me during the last two weeks following my bilateral hip surgery.  Every person I had contact with was professional, helpful, and caring.  Special thanks to Amy W. and Louise V. who spent time explaining things that were important to know to me, to the home health aides Sondra and Janie, who helped me feel more comfortable and confident.  Special thanks to Dawn C., Luke M. and Becky T. who were helpful and encouraging way above and beyond the ordinary.  Thanks so much! Joyce C.
