Pioneering Healthier Communities [caption id="attachment_1188" align="alignleft" width="150" caption="Kristen Weaver"][/caption] Many exciting projects are underway in Western North Carolina to help make Asheville and the surrounding communities an even healthier place to live, work and play.  Kristen Weaver will speak at Take Time, Take Charge - an event for all women on Pioneering Healthier Communities.  Pioneering Healthier Communities (PHC) was developed to create more opportunity for access to healthy living, with a goal of achieving a sense of well being and longevity throughout the communities.  Come learn about how PHC is serving as a catalyst providing leadership, support, coordination and resources to remove obstacles and assist the community in achieving their physical activity goals.  It is the desire of all organizations involved with PHC for these initiatives to serve as inspiration to the entire state and country to help make our nation a place where healthy living is easily accessible for all. Kristen Weaver is a native New Yorker who relocated with her mother and sister to Brevard, N.C. in 1992.  Kristen began her career at 18 years old and has been passionate about fitness since.  She steadily continued to instruct group exercise and personal train and currently holds certifications in Muscle Pump, Cardio and Step Aerobics, Cycle, Zumba and Personal Training.  Kristen graduated in the spring of 2002 with a Bachelor of Arts in Organizational Leadership and a minor in the social sciences, emphasizing psychology and interpersonal communication, Magna Cum Laude from Brevard College. Kristen currently serves as the Director of Association Wellness Advancement at the YMCA of Western North Carolina.  This position serves as a resource for YMCA branches and the community in the advancement, development and implementation of wellness initiatives.
