More than 100 people, including hospital administrators, city and county officials, medical staff and members of the community, were on hand Friday for a celebration that marked the groundbreaking of an innovative healthcare campus
, which will be located at 2651 Hendersonville Road in Fletcher. Today’s groundbreaking was the culmination of more than three years of planning. The 80,000-square-foot outpatient facility
, on U.S. 25 at the Henderson and Buncombe county line, is expected to open in 2013. It will house clinical services and physician offices and provide patients with easy access, and high-quality, low-cost healthcare to northern Henderson County and Southern Buncombe County.
Here is a quote from Mayor Bill Moore on www.blueridgenow.com
, "This shows you the area is growing,” he told the crowd of local leaders, hospital officials and community members.
Improving customer access to health care is important as the town grows, he added, as “This will bring jobs to the area and create jobs.”
