Pardee Presents Mountain Medley Triathlon

Housing Assistance and Mainstay, along with Pardee Hospital, are excited to offer the Mountain Medley Triathlon Saturday, Sept. 8, at Camp Green Cove at Lake Summit, located in Tuxedo, N.C. The Mountain Medley Triathlon begins at 9 a.m. and includes an 800 meter swim, 6 miles of off road mountain biking and finishes with a 10k run. The Mountain Medley Lite Triathlon, for novice competitors, will begin at 2 p.m. and includes a 400 meter swim, 5k off road mountain bike section and finishes with a 5k run. Proceeds from the Mountain Medley Triathlon will benefit Housing Assistance and Mainstay. Tracey Roizman, chiropractic neurologist, to speak at Sjogren’s Syndrome Support Group at Pardee Health Education Center

Tracey Roizman, chiropractic neurologist, will speak at the Sjogren Syndrome Support Group on Wednesday, June 20, from 12 – 1 p.m. at the Pardee Health Education Center located in the Blue Ridge Mall. Roizman is a chiropractic neurologist who specializes in Chiropractic Functional Neurology (CFN), a brain-based approach to illness prevention and treatment that is applicable to a wide variety of health conditions. CFN is a particularly useful tool for evaluating imbalances between the left and right hemispheres of the brain that may lead to an overactive immune system and development of autoimmune conditions such as Sjogren's syndrome. This free educational talk and workshop will focus on the relationship between the brain and the immune system and the Chiropractic Functional Neurology approach to evaluating and treating Sjogren's.

Shelley Case, RD, internationally recognized expert on Celiac disease, visits the Pardee Health Education Center

Shelley Case, RD, an internationally recognized expert on Celiac disease and the gluten-free diet, will visit the Celiac Support Group on Wednesday, June 13, from 3:30 – 5:00 p.m. at the Pardee Health Education Center, located in the Blue Ridge Mall. Case will present “Celiac Disease, Gluten Sensitivity and The Gluten-Free Diet: What Everyone Needs to Know.” She is a member of the Medical Advisory Boards of the Celiac Disease Foundation, Gluten Intolerance Group and Canadian Celiac Association. Leah McGrath, Ingles Dietitian, visits Diabetes Support Group at Pardee Health Education Center

Leah McGrath, Ingles Dietitian, will visit the Diabetes Support Group on Wednesday, May 16, from 10 – 11:30 a.m. at the Pardee Health Education Center, located in the Blue Ridge Mall. “I always look forward to working with Pardee Hospital's Certified Diabetes Educator, Nina Lovern, and the support group. This support group and the diabetes education classes are a tremendous resource for the community to help individuals with diabetes understand more about the disease and how to stay healthy. I'll be doing a presentation on "What's New at Ingles?" which will give participants a chance to sample and rate products that are new in-store,” says Leah McGrath, Corporate Dietitian for Ingles Markets.
