Your Hospital Team

The Medical Staff

The doctor who admits you is responsible for guiding your care while you are in the hospital. Talk to your doctor about questions you have. At the request of your admitting doctor, other doctors may visit you. One of your doctor's associates may also visit you.

The Nursing Staff

A team of registered nurses, licensed practical nurses and nursing assistants provide 24-hour nursing care. The Nursing Service Director is responsible for directing and coordinating nursing care on each unit. Please contact your nurse or the Nursing Service Director if you have questions or concerns.

Pastoral Services

Pardee Hospital believes that patient care demands attention to the spiritual, physical and emotional needs of each patient. Members of the Chaplain's office are available to assist you, whatever your religious tradition. Your priest, minister or rabbi is always welcome to visit you while you are here. You may want to visit the Meditation Room on the first floor for a time of calm and quiet.

Housekeeping (Environmental Services)

A member of the housekeeping staff will clean your room daily. If there is a housekeeping problem in your room, tell your nurse and it will be taken care of as soon as possible.

Compliance

Pardee Hospital maintains a compliance program, under the direction of a compliance officer and a committee, to ensure that the hospital conforms with local, state and federal regulations.

Discharge Planners/Social Services

Each unit has a discharge planner assigned to help with your discharge needs. If you have emotional, social or financial needs related to your medical condition, a medical social worker is available to help. Pardee Hospital can help with Medicaid and Medicare disability applications. Help with arranging home health visits or other follow-up care is also available. If you have any concerns about caring for yourself after discharge, please ask to speak to the discharge planner or social worker.

Auxiliary

The Auxiliary is a group of volunteers who contribute many hours of service and financial assistance to the hospital. Members of the Auxiliary assist the information desk, deliver flowers and mail, provide reading materials and manage the gift shop (located on the ground floor) and the Garden Cafe (located on the first floor). If you would like more information on becoming a member of the Auxiliary or for any questions involving the volunteers, please call (828) 698-7187.

Phlebotomists - draw blood samples for testing in the laboratory.

Respiratory Therapists - provide breathing exercises and treatments to help you breathe.
