The hospital conducts drills regularly and if a drill occurs while you are here, please remain in your room. Our nursing team will instruct and assist in the event of a real emergency.
All team members are required to practice good hand washing techniques. Please help us by washing your hands before and after you eat, after you use the bathroom, and anytime your hands become soiled. Ask your nurse for more information about the importance of good hand washing.
Specific regulations are in effect in patient rooms where there is oxygen. Electrically-operated equipment and aerosol products are not permitted in these areas.
All appliances brought from home such as curling irons, radios or hair dryers must be examined and approved for use by the Engineering Department before putting them to use.
Patients are encouraged not to bring valuables to the hospital. Items such as jewelry or wallets should be deposited in the safe in the Business Office. Written receipts are given in return for all items. The hospital does not accept responsibility for items of value unless they are deposited in the safe.
When not in use, dentures, eyeglasses and hearing aids should be stored at the bedside. A container can also be provided for storing dentures. The hospital cannot be responsible for the loss or breakage of such items.
If you lose something, please notify your nurse immediately and every effort will be made to help you find it. Unclaimed articles are turned in to Lost and Found, where they are kept for 30 days. To inquire about a lost item, or to place an item into lost and found, please dial (828) 696-1000 ext. 3150.
