Safety and Security
The safety and security of our patients, visitors and staff is of the utmost importance.
We conduct safety drills regularly. If a drill occurs while you are here, please remain in your room. Our nursing team will assist you in the event of a real emergency.
All team members are required to practice good hand-washing techniques. Please help us by washing your hands:
Ask your nurse for more information about the importance of good hand-washing.
Specific regulations are in effect in patient rooms where there is oxygen. Electrically operated equipment and aerosol products are not permitted in these areas.
All appliances brought from home, such as curling irons, radios or hair dryers, must be examined and approved by the Engineering Department before you use them.
We encourage you not to bring valuables to the hospital. Items such as jewelry or wallets should be deposited in the safe in our business office. Written receipts are given in return for all items. The hospital does not accept responsibility for items of value unless they are deposited in the safe.
When not in use, dentures, eyeglasses and hearing aids should be stored at the bedside. Your nurse can provide a container for storing dentures. The hospital cannot be responsible for the loss or breakage of such items.
