Ear, Nose and Throat Surgery

Ear, Nose and Throat Surgery

Our board-certified otolaryngologists perform traditional and laser assisted surgeries for adults and children who suffer from head and neck conditions affecting the ear, nose and throat. Many ear, nose and throat surgeries are performed utilizing minimally invasive techniques, resulting in faster recoveries and less pain. Some of the frequently performed ear, nose and throat surgeries offered at Pardee Hospital include:

  • Removing tonsils and/or adenoids: These procedures are more common in children when frequent inflammation and infection of the tonsils and/or adenoids occurs.
  • Ear surgery. Some Examples are:
    • BMT (Bilateral Myringotomy Tubes): Frequent ear infections usually seen in children.
    • Stapedectomy/Mastoidectomy: Surgeries of the inner ear. More frequent in adults.
  • Nose Surgery: Some examples are:
    • Septoplasty: A procedure to correct crooked portions of the nasal septum.
    • Rhinoplasty: Reconstructive/plastic procedure of nose shape.
  • Surgical treatment for sleep apnea: Obstructive Sleep Apnea (OSA) is a result of muscles of the upper airway relaxing during sleep, sometimes causing a partial or complete obstruction of the upper airway. Surgical treatments may include tonsillectomy or removal of other tissue in the upper airway. Our surgeons work closely with the Pardee Sleep Center to diagnose and treat patients with OSA.
  • Functional endoscopic sinus (or balloon simuplasty): A minimally invasive procedure for patients who have recurrent sinus inflammation.
  • Head and neck malignancy: Cancer treatments for the head and neck area.
  • Direct laryngoscopy: A procedure using a microscope or a fiber optic endoscope to examine or operate on inner portion of the throat.
  • Removal of skin lesions: Surgical removal of skin lesions involving the head and neck regions with reconstruction.
