Chief Financial Officer 

Mike Sunday was appointed as UNC Health Pardee’s Vice President and Chief Financial Officer in May 2022, having previously served as Pardee’s Controller since 2019. UNC Health Pardee, the second-largest employer in Henderson County, includes a comprehensive specialty physician network representing over 50 medical specialties, primary care network with FQHC status, cancer center, four urgent care locations and four orthopedic clinics.

As Chief Financial Officer, Sunday provides executive oversight for key supporting functions, including revenue cycle, accounting, internal audit, system budgeting, capital planning and decision support.

In his previous role as Controller, Sunday oversaw the functions of accounting, reimbursement, decision support and payroll for the health system. He was responsible for all month-end reporting and annual audits for Pardee Hospital and Pardee Urgent Care. While in this position, Sunday implemented the On-Base scanning system, a single enterprise platform that has improved Pardee’s efficiency and effectiveness, and a weekly performance projection for financials.

Prior to joining Pardee, Sunday held positions with increasing responsibility at Onslow Memorial Hospital in Jacksonville, North Carolina. He received both his Bachelor of Science in Accounting and his Master of Business Administration from East Carolina University.
