Will the hospital be open during the storm?
Pardee UNC Health Care hospital facility is open 24 hours a day, 7 days a week no matter the weather. Our staff is always prepared for inclement weather and emergency situations. Irma specific preparations have been ongoing this week.
Will my physician’s office be open during the storm?
Pardee physicians will make every effort to keep appointments as scheduled. If physician offices need to close due to inclement weather, patients with scheduled appointments will be contacted. Additionally, office closings will be posted on our website and social media channels.
I have surgery scheduled the day the storm. Do I still come to the hospital?
If your surgery requires rescheduling, you will receive a phone call from your physician office or Pardee Surgical Services.
My loved one is a patient, will they be okay during the storm?
Pardee has been keeping an eye on the storm’s path. Essential supplies, medications, food and water are stocked to sustain operations. Back up generators have been tested and are in working order.
I’m about to run out of my medication, what do I do?
It’s important to plan for 3 -5 days of medication on hand. Call your pharmacy immediately if your medication supply is not sufficient.
What do I do if I’m in a flood prone area or residence that cannot withstand high winds?
If you are unable to remain in your home, you can contact the American Red Cross to find an open shelter or request assistance by web (www.redcross.org) or by calling 1 800 RED CROSS ( 1-800-733-2767)
