Special Community Recognition of Pardee UNC Health Care Athletic Trainers to Take Place on Historic Henderson County Courthouse Steps, March 23 at 9 a.m.

What: County Commissioner Chairman Mike Edney will sign a proclamation designating March 23 as Athletic Training Day in Henderson County. Pardee Sports Medicine athletic trainers, CEO James M. Kirby, II, Chief Administrative Officer Johnna Reed, and Orthopedic Service Line Director Dan Hein will attend the event. Sports medicine students and athletic directors from East, West, North and Hendersonville High Schools, as well as Henderson County Athletic Director Scott Rhodes are expected to attend.

When: Friday, March 23 at 9 a.m.

Where: Henderson County Historic Courthouse, located at 100 North Main Street

Why: To recognize Pardee Sports Medicine athletic trainers. Pardee Sports Medicine provides licensed athletic trainers to all public middle and high schools in Henderson County, many middle and high schools in Buncombe County, Polk County High School, and Pisgah High School. The athletic trainers also provide medical services at the Apple Festival 5K, XCEL Sportsplex events, Mad Mountain Mud Run and the Asheville Marathon, to name a few. They participate in EMS training for the treatment of cervical spine injuries, career days at local schools, Pardee Signature Care events, United Way Day of Caring and various other events in the region.
