Named a Certified Quality Breast Center of Excellence
Pardee’s breast center is the only facility in North Carolina to receive this recognition
Pardee UNC Health Care’s Elizabeth Reilly Breast Center has been named a Certified Quality Breast Center of Excellence™, the highest certification level in the National Quality Measures for Breast Centers™ (NQMBC) program. Pardee’s breast center is the only facility in the state of North Carolina to receive this designation.
This certification recognizes a center’s quality performance as meeting quality standards criteria. In addition to the requirements to become a Certified Quality Breast Center, the Certified Quality Breast Center of Excellence applicant must have supplied 90 percent of the measures for which their quality breast center type should be able to measure performance.
“On behalf of the entire Elizabeth Reilly Breast Center team, we are honored to be recognized for our commitment to high quality health care,” said Jennifer McAlister, M.D., a fellowship-trained breast surgeon at Pardee. “Our focus is providing our community with the most advanced breast cancer screenings and personalized treatment options in a caring environment.”
Dr. McAlister is the only fellowship-trained breast surgeon in Western North Carolina.
NQMBC program offers facilities providing breast health care the ability to track and measure quality performance measures in more than 30 individual quality indicators. The most compelling component of this program is the ability of participants to enter their own data and immediately compare their performance on these measures with other participating breast centers around the country. Current participants use these comparison reports to identify where quality care already exists and where quality care improvement opportunity exists. The Elizabeth Reilly Breast Center is part of the Cancer Center at Pardee. It gives women and men access to the most advanced breast diagnostic and treatment services available. It is the only breast center in Henderson County designated as a Breast Imaging Center of Excellence by the American College of Radiology.
