Pardee UNC Health Care Athletic Trainers to be Recognized at Athletic Training Day in Henderson County on Friday, March 15

County Commissioner Chairman Grady Hawkins to sign proclamation at Henderson County Historic Courthouse

Pardee Sports Medicine certified athletic trainers will be recognized at an event on Friday, March 15 at 9 a.m. at the Henderson County Historic Courthouse, located at 100 North Main Street. County Commissioner Chairman Grady Hawkins will sign and read a proclamation designating March 15 as Athletic Training Day in Henderson County. The following Pardee representatives will attend the event: Dwayne Durham, director of Pardee Sports Medicine; Dan Hein, administrative director of Pardee Sports Medicine and Orthopedics; Dr. Nathaniel Jablecki, medical director of Pardee Sports Medicine; Johnna Reed, chief administrative officer; and athletic trainers and students from each school Pardee serves.

“It is an honor for our athletic training program to be recognized by Henderson County leaders,” said Durham. “Each member of our team is committed to the health, wellness and education of the student-athletes and communities we serve. We are grateful to the county for raising awareness of the work we do.”

Pardee Sports Medicine provides licensed athletic trainers to all public middle and high schools in Henderson County and Transylvania County, many middle and high schools in Buncombe County, Polk County High School, and Pisgah High School. The athletic trainers also provide medical services at the Apple Festival 5K, XCEL Sportsplex events and the Mad Mountain Mud Run. They participate in EMS training for the treatment of cervical spine injuries, career days at local schools, United Way Day of Caring and many other events throughout the region. Pardee UNC Health Care is a not-for-profit community hospital founded in 1953 and is managed by UNC Health Care. The hospital is licensed for 222 acute care beds.
