Pardee UNC Health Care Launches Dedicated Bariatric Surgery Website
Pardee UNC Health Care has launched a dedicated bariatric surgery website (PardeeBariatrics.org) for people interested in weight loss surgery. The new site features detailed information about the Pardee Bariatrics and Weight Loss program and team, and a full-length video seminar for individuals who cannot attend Pardee’s in-person seminar, which is the first step in the bariatric surgery process. In the coming months, PardeeBariatrics.org will unveil its Bariatrics University, which will provide patient resources, including educational information, recipes and helpful tips from other weight loss surgery patients.
“Forty percent of Americans struggle with obesity, which can dramatically decrease their quality and length of life,” said Chris Edwards, M.D., FACS, a board-certified and fellowship-trained bariatric surgeon, and medical director of Pardee Bariatrics and Weight Loss. “The goal of this new website is to provide helpful information to people who are interested in weight loss surgery, but may not be able to attend one of our in-person seminars.”
Dr. Edwards specializes in minimally invasive surgery, including single-site bariatric, reflux and hernia surgery. He has performed nearly 2,000 weight loss surgeries since 2006 and has practiced in Western North Carolina for more than 10 years. Pardee Bariatrics and Weight Loss is located at the Mission Pardee Health Campus, 2695 Hendersonville Road, Suite 200 in Arden.
