Dr. Robert Murphy Retiring from Pardee Internal Medicine Associates
Pardee UNC Health Care announced today that Robert Murphy, M.D., is retiring from Pardee Internal Medicine Associates in Hendersonville. Dr. Murphy’s last day with the practice is Friday, March 19.
Dr. Murphy spent the majority of his more than 40-year career in Hendersonville. He has spent the last 22 years at Pardee as an internal medicine physician treating adults, with a primary focus on the geriatric population. Dr. Murphy focuses on general patient care and preventive care and approaches medicine with a patient-centered outlook, making sure the patient is involved in their care every step of the way. “I have loved being a part of the community at Pardee and greatly value my relationships with my patients,” Dr. Murphy said. “It’s a good feeling developing these long-term relationships with your patients and their families. I will greatly miss that interaction.”
Dr. Murphy earned his medical degree from Tulane University in New Orleans, LA, where he also completed his internship and residency in internal medicine. Prior to joining Pardee, Dr. Murphy practiced medicine in New Orleans from 1979-1998. In his time at Pardee, he has served as the Vice Department Chair of Internal Medicine from 2012-2014 and the Department Chair of Internal Medicine from 2014-2016.
