East Asheville practice will utilize a physician-pharmacist co-visit model
Pardee UNC Health Care today held a ribbon cutting to open its newest primary care practice in Asheville. Pardee Family Medicine Associates Asheville (PFMA), located at 805 Fairview Road adjacent to Sona Pharmacy, further expands Pardee’s footprint within the region.
Dr. David Ellis, Pardee’s Chief Medical Officer, welcomed guests and recognized the community leaders and Pardee team members who were integral to PFMA’s opening. “Pardee strives to be a valued and trusted partner in the communities we serve,” said Dr. Ellis. “It is one of our most important values, and we are honored to join the East Asheville community as we continue to respond to the needs of patients within Buncombe County.”
Jesse Pace, DO, a board-certified family medicine physician who will lead the new practice, began seeing patients on Monday, June 28th. At the event, Dr. Pace shared additional details about PFMA’s physician-pharmacist co-visit model.
“This integrated model allows a physician and a clinical pharmacist practitioner to see patients during the same visit,” Dr. Pace explained. “Through the co-visit model we are able to facilitate thorough medication reviews, drug therapy management, and disease management and education for chronic conditions such as diabetes, COPD and cardiovascular disease.”
Dr. Pace specializes in preventive care for all ages and the management of chronic diseases such as diabetes, high blood pressure, and mental wellness. He provides quality, evidence-based care and collaborates with patients to diagnose and treat a broad spectrum of health concerns and help patients achieve their health goals. Dr. Pace earned his medical degree from Arizona College of Osteopathic Medicine and completed his internship and residency at Mountain Area Health Education Center (MAHEC).
