Teresa Nicholson Named Teammate of the Year for UNC Health Pardee

UNC Health Pardee is pleased to announce Teresa Nicholson, RN, has been named Teammate of the Year for 2024. Nicholson, who works as a registered nurse in the OR and as a PRN house supervisor for nursing, was honored at Pardee’s annual Service Appreciation and Recognition Banquet on Sept. 23, 2025.

Teresa, who has been with Pardee for more than 24 years, began her career as a new graduate in 2001 in the Medical Surgical Oncology (MSO) unit, where she worked for five years. She transitioned to the Intensive Care Unit (ICU) and treated patients for 14 years before moving to her current role as house supervisor.  Her job is to manage patient bed flow and staffing decisions, provide patient care, and serve as a resource to nurses and providers to ensure the hospital functions properly. “I am honored to be named Teammate of the Year,” Teresa said. “Pardee has been my home for more than two decades, and I am so grateful for the opportunity to care for our patients and support our incredible clinical team. Every day, I’m inspired by my colleagues’ dedication and compassion. Together, we work to make sure every patient and family feels supported and cared for during their time with us.”
