UNC Health Pardee Announces Teammates of the Month
UNC Health Pardee has announced Patricia Case, a registered nurse, and Vanna May, a buyer in materials management, as its Teammates of the Month. The Teammate of the Month award is given to a Pardee employee who positively contributes to achieving the organization’s mission, vision and goals.
Joining the organization in 1987, Patricia Case has spent nearly her entire career at Pardee. She says Pardee holds a special place for her as she met her husband at the hospital and delivered her children here. Though she’s worked in several departments across the organization, now as a triage nurse with Pardee Home Health, she said the people continue to be her favorite part of her job. “I am so fortunate that I have had wonderful relationships with the people I work with,” she said. Her colleagues shared that she is kind, generous, and goes above and beyond her regular job duties, noting that after Hurricane Helene, she and her husband helped colleagues displaced by the storm with food and shelter. “Pat is a definite asset for home health and Pardee. Her generosity and kindness are among her greatest attributes,” a colleague shared.
As a buyer in materials management, Vanna May is responsible for sourcing, evaluating, and purchasing medical supplies and equipment needed for patient care, ensuring the hospital has the right items in the right quantities at the best price. Though she has only been with Pardee for a short time, Vanna May has made quite a positive impression on her colleagues who share, “She is such a great team player, a fabulous resource and very knowledgeable. She has been a great addition to the team, and I love working with her.” Vanna expressed that Pardee has been her favorite organization to work for because of the camaraderie. “I was impressed with how Pardee worked with everyone during Hurricane Helene and the support provided to the whole community. Pardee feels like a warm, caring organization that truly cares about each teammate.”
The Teammate of the Month is given to a person selected by a committee of their peers and recognized for going above and beyond their regular duties to support patients, customers, peers, the organization and its community. The Teammate of the Month award showcases the many different roles of keeping a health system, like Pardee, operating and delivering patient-centered, quality care.
UNC Health Pardee is a not-for-profit regional healthcare organization based in Henderson County and managed by UNC Health. The county-owned hospital was founded in 1953 in Hendersonville, NC, and is licensed for 222 acute care beds.
