UNC Health Pardee Expands Access to Mental Health Services with Pardee BlueMD Behavioral Health

Providers will see patients at three locations in Asheville, Brevard, and Hendersonville

UNC Health Pardee is pleased to announce the addition of Pardee BlueMD Behavioral Health, a new practice group offering outpatient mental health services for children, adolescents, and adults. The clinical team includes Mike Feeney, PhD, a licensed psychologist, and board-certified psychiatrists Erin Morrison, DO, and Margaret “Maggie” Shirley, MD. With multiple locations across Hendersonville, Asheville, and Brevard, Pardee BlueMD Behavioral Health is positioned to meet the community’s growing mental health needs, whether patients are facing urgent challenges or seeking ongoing support for long-term well-being.

Mike FeeneyPardee BlueMD Behavioral Health expands access to both acute and long-term mental health support, ensuring that patients and families can find the care they need—close to home and without a referral. The practice provides expert care in a full range of services, including screenings, assessments, counseling/therapy, and medication management for conditions such as depression, anxiety, and substance use disorders.

Dr. Feeney is a licensed psychologist who is focused on child and adolescent therapy and treatment. “My philosophy of patient care is grounded in deep respect for the resilience of young people and the power of relationships to drive meaningful change,” he said. “I believe that healing and growth occur within the context of feeling secure and having trust and connection – especially for youth and families navigating complex challenges, developmental differences, or trauma.” Dr. Feeney is practicing at 712 Fleming Street in Hendersonville and is accepting new child and adolescent patients.

Erin MorrisonDr. Morrison is board-certified in adult, adolescent, and child psychiatry with a primary focus on child and adolescent mental health medication management. “I work primarily with children and younger patients, so my approach to medication management is more conservative as I focus on approaches through therapy first,” she said. “I incorporate an understanding of the young patient’s environment as a whole, including family concerns, school, and social aspects, into my treatment plan.” Dr. Morrison will be seeing patients at 21 Turtle Creek Drive in Asheville and is accepting new patients aged five through 30.

Maggie ShirleyDr. Shirley aims to treat the whole person in approaching a patient’s emotional difficulties, including understanding their medical illnesses, phase of life changes, current life stressors, and history of psychiatric care. “My approach is grounded, kind and highly collaborative with other providers, family members, and other important social supports,” Dr. Shirley said. “I deeply appreciate a reciprocal and trusting relationship with my patients who, I hope, feel free to give me feedback along the way.” Dr. Shirley is seeing adult patients at 1409 Asheville Highway in Brevard.
