UNC Health Pardee Announces Visitor Restrictions to Combat Rising Respiratory Illness Cases
As of Tuesday, Dec. 30, 2025, UNC Health Pardee will implement visitor restrictions in all inpatient areas at our main hospital campus in response to increased flu-like illness across the region. These restrictions are in place for the safety of our patients, teammates, and community.
During this time, the following restrictions will be in place:
-
Individuals should avoid visiting the hospital if they have respiratory symptoms or any of the following: headache, muscle aches, cough, fever, sore throat, and/or a runny or stuffy nose.
While wearing a mask remains optional at UNC Health Pardee, it is strongly encouraged during times of increased flu-like illnesses.
Anyone experiencing flu-like symptoms should visit an urgent care location. Seek care at the emergency department or hospital only when symptoms are severe or life-threatening.
We encourage all visitors to wash or sanitize their hands before and after visiting patients and entering or leaving the hospital. Hand sanitizing dispensers are available throughout the building.
Thank you for your cooperation as we prioritize health and safety during this time. Please communicate these guidelines to patients and their families as needed.
