Charlotte Stone Named Leader of the Quarter for UNC Health Pardee

Charlotte Stone, MDUNC Health Pardee has named Charlotte Stone, director of nursing services for the Progressive Care Unit (PCU), as its Leader of the Quarter. In this role, Stone oversees daily unit operations while supporting teammates and promoting a culture centered on patient care and teamwork.

Stone previously worked for Pardee from 2014 to 2019 and returned in 2020 after relocating back to the area. She said she was drawn to the organization because of its strong team culture. Her favorite part of the job is working alongside dedicated clinicians who are committed to both their patients and one another.

Colleagues describe Stone as compassionate, approachable, and steady during challenging moments. She regularly steps in to support staff, encourages professional growth, and keeps communication open and transparent. Teammates say her leadership creates a sense of trust and belonging and inspires everyone to deliver exceptional care.

The Leader of the Quarter award is given to a Pardee teammate in a position of director or higher. The recipient positively contributes to achieving the organization’s mission, vision and goals. This person is selected by a committee of their peers and recognized for going above and beyond their regular duties to support patients, customers, peers, the organization and its community. The Leader of the Quarter award showcases the many different roles of keeping a health system, like Pardee, operating and delivering patient-centered, quality care.
