UNC Health Pardee Welcomes Dr. Amanda Van Straten to Pardee Neurology Associates

Amanda Van Straten, MDUNC Health Pardee is pleased to welcome Amanda Van Straten, MD, a board-certified neurologist with fellowship training in clinical neurophysiology, to Pardee Neurology Associates. Dr. Van Straten brings extensive experience in outpatient neurology and a patient-centered approach focused on partnership and individualized care.

Dr. Van Straten specializes in the diagnosis and treatment of neurological conditions, with a clinical interest in epilepsy. She is board-certified in neurology and completed fellowship training in clinical neurophysiology at Dartmouth Health in Lebanon, New Hampshire.

“I love getting to know my patients and working alongside them as partners in their care,” said Dr. Van Straten. “My goal is to listen closely, understand each patient’s experience, and help guide them toward answers and treatment options that support their quality of life.”

Before joining UNC Health Pardee, Dr. Van Straten served as a staff neurologist at Northeastern Vermont Regional Hospital, where she provided outpatient care and inpatient consultation at a critical access hospital. In April 2024, she joined an outpatient-only practice, continuing her focus on comprehensive neurological care. In her free time, Dr. Van Straten enjoys camping, participating in outdoor pursuits, playing board games, and speed puzzling.
