Cardiac Rehabilitation

Whether you’re recovering from heart surgery or a heart attack or managing your chronic heart failure or other heart condition, you may be referred to cardiac rehabilitation to help restore your heart’s function.

Cardiac rehabilitation is a comprehensive, exercise and education program held on an outpatient basis at the Pardee Rehab & Wellness Center in Hendersonville. Patients typically follow an individualized program, overseen by a supervising physician, for 12 weeks. The program includes:

  • Medically supervised exercise
  • Educational classes and materials
  • Counseling
  • Group support

Cardiac Rehab Team

Pardee’s Cardiac Rehab team is made up of a medical director, registered nurses, exercise physiologists to help optimize exercise and promote equipment safety, registered dietitians for diet and nutrition plans, mental health specialists for stress management, and a pharmacist to ensure prescription drug safety and access to medication.

What to Expect

The Cardiac Rehabilitation team will work with your doctor to understand your specific needs. Then, you will be scheduled for one-hour appointments on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays. During these appointments, you will exercise, receive information about your condition and how to minimize future problems, discuss your lifestyle and dietary habits, learn stress management techniques, and have your lab work and medications evaluated for potential problems.

Our goal is to help you increase your strength, endurance and energy level and to improve your overall heart health.
