Why did you choose to work in health care?

I was diagnosed with stage 3 breast cancer at 30. I know how scary it can be to be in the hospital, and I just want to help people get better. The lab is who was at the base of all my treatment plans, the infections, blood transfusions, chemo drugs, antibiotics…everything was based on my bloodwork. It’s pretty amazing how all your body systems talk to each other through your blood, and it’s the most basic diagnostic tool we have besides imaging. I wanted to be a part of that.

What do you enjoy most about working at Pardee?

I have the best team of coworkers! The people I work with are amazing. 

Everybody from Environmental Services to Nutrition to the lab techs to the CNAs and RNs…every single person in this hospital that touches a patient’s life is part of a patient’s team. We all work as a team to provide our patients with compassionate and high-quality care. I have been a patient here for years and I know this to be true from personal experience too!
