Where are you from?
Westfield, MA
Why did you choose to work in health care?
Since I was a little girl, I knew I wanted to help others. It wasn't until my college freshman year that I had an opportunity to observe an OT who was working with a family member of mine. I was providing transportation to them, so I was able to observe every visit and learn how an OT can make a difference, which sparked an interest and now has become my career! I had a passion to help others and a love for sports and exercise, so OT was a perfect fit.
What does a typical workday look like for you?
A typical workday for me includes traveling throughout our community to provide Occupational Therapy to patients who have had a recent injury, illness, or decline. Areas I focus on include identifying barriers or obstacles within the home that cause a risk of falls/potential harm, establishing exercise programs, providing education, making home modifications, setting up and training patient on use of DME and providing them with the tools and compensatory strategies in order to maintain an healthy independent lifestyle at home.
What do you enjoy most about working at Pardee?
The meaningful relationships and connections I am able to make with patients and people throughout our community. I value my co-workers and appreciate the camaraderie and collaboration that comes with working alongside other dedicated professionals who share my passion for helping others. Finally, the flexibility and opportunity to advance my career in a part time role while having a healthy work/life balance.
What is an interesting fact about yourself?
In addition to being a mom of two young boys, I played and coached women’s volleyball at the collegiate level.
