Why did you choose to work in health care?

I chose to go into nursing after a family member was in hospice care. I was so impressed by their care and compassion. I started out as a private duty caregiver, and one of my client’s home health nurses encouraged me to go back to school.

I bring 27 years of experience to my job. I believe people do not care how much you know until you show them how much you care. I try to always give my genuine compassion to others.

I can't imagine doing anything else with my life.

What does a typical workday look like for you?

I work in Pardee’s Medical Surgical Oncology (MSO) unit, where patients receive surgery for treatment of cancer. I work together with my fellow team members to give patients the best experience possible under their stressful circumstances.

What do you enjoy most about working at Pardee?

My favorite part of being a part of Pardee is my team. I always know that my team members have my back. We are family.

I am very honored to work here. I’ve gained experience and knowledge that I would not have gotten elsewhere.
