Happy with Pardee since 1990
Where are you from?
Dana, NC
What inspired you to join UNC Health Pardee?
I wanted to be a part of the hospital that always cared for those around me. I’ve spent my entire career here, and even in the times we all had to pull together to make it through, I never felt a desire to leave.
What does a typical workday look like for you?
My day starts by 7:00 a.m. I take care of my manager duties while helping my staff with patients in the pain center. I do whatever task I need to do, from rooming a patient, to transporting, to meeting with patients to hear their complaints. I stay until I am no longer needed for the day.
Can you share a memorable moment or experience that made you feel proud to be part of the UNC Health Pardee team?
I have had many moments in my Pardee journey, but I can truly say, in the times I needed support for myself or my family, I knew my back was covered. The support and love I needed to make it through was there.
What do you appreciate most about the culture and community at UNC Health Pardee?
I am proud to be a part of an organization that cares about all of the people it affects, from its staff to our patients and the community.
What is a surprising fact about yourself?
I love to make people happy – whether it’s patients, staff, family, or friends. I know my purpose in this world is to do what I can do to improve any situation. Everyone has a story, and I hope for the moments I am involved in that I make those moments the best they can be.
