Pardee Hospital Foundation hosts a variety of events to keep donors, patients, families and the community in touch with the Foundation and the hospital.
Fundraising events provide meaningful and enjoyable ways for individuals, corporations, businesses and community partners to support the hospital. Through your involvement with the Tournament of Champions and Women Helping Women, Pardee is able to increase its margin of excellence to better serve the community.
Other events held throughout the year focus on education and appreciation. This year we will have our Diamond Jubilee Gala in June, which celebrates the positive impact of charitable giving by awarding the Philanthropist of the Year as well as the Physician of the Year.
Mark your calendars for our second annual Cornhole Tournament, Saturday, April 18th at 3pm, at the Hendersonville Country Club Tennis Courts.
We are going to 'pop' the top off of this year's BIGGER and BETTER tournament!

The Pardee Hospital Foundation invites you to attend a Women Helping Women event October 23 and October 24.
You'll support women in Western North Carolina without the means to pay for their healthcare screenings and treatments. Your contribution of $125 allows one woman to receive a mammogram or an important screening that can prevent and treat cancers, heart disease, osteoporosis, and other threatening medical conditions. Your attendance at one of these events allows Pardee Hospital to continue to provide exceptional, coordinated, compassionate care.
Thursday, October 23, 6 p.m., join us for our annual Women Helping Women Dinner.
We will honor caregivers and celebrate advances in Cancer Research, Care, and Treatment
Learn the latest in research and advances in cancer care from Special Guest Karyn Stitzenberg, MD, MPH, FACS, Division of Surgical Oncology, UNC Department of Surgery
Friday, October 24, 11:30 a.m., join us for our 17th Annual Women Helping Women Luncheon.
Strength. Courage. Hope.
Special Guest Steve Ford, Actor & Son of President Gerald Ford and First Lady Betty Ford will talk about his mother's courage in her willingness to talk frankly about her breast cancer, a subject only whispered about in the 1970s, and what it felt like being so young and in the public eye while his mom went public. "The biggest thing Mom did with her candor and transparency was help to start take the stigma off of breast cancer," says Ford. "It was a different world. She was handed a huge task and we are so proud of how she rose to the occasion." Her outspokenness changed how the nation viewed breast cancer and made it appropriate for communities and the nation to be able to openly address the issue.
At both events a special announcement will be made regarding this year's Women of Hope.
Thanks to a host of generous sponsors, The Annual Gala Celebration will be held on Saturday, June 21, 2014.
The announcement of our Pardee Healthcare Philanthropist of the Year always promises to be a highlight of the evening. Pardee Foundation established the annual Healthcare Philanthropy Award to honor a donor who has provided long-term gifts and who volunteers time to Pardee Hospital and the Foundation as well as other healthcare organizations in our community. Recipients of this prestigious award are community leaders who selflessly advocate for healthcare philanthropy and inspire giving in Henderson County.
Last year Pardee Foundation established a Physician of the Year award. This award is presented annually to recognize a physician at Pardee Hospital whose career has been defined by medical excellence, dedication to compassionate patient care, and a commitment to improving the lives of countless hundreds of people throughout the community. The award seeks to identify and recognize multi-accomplished physicians who have enriched the field of medicine and who have demonstrated a love of the profession of medicine.

Pardee Hospital Foundation founded Women Helping Women in 1998 to address a morbid trend: Henderson County had the second highest death rate for breast cancer in the state.
Today, thanks in large part to Women Helping Women and other charitable health-care programs, we have reduced the morbidity rate in Henderson County well below the state average to the lowest 15 percentile – 85th out of 100 counties in the North Carolina.
Since 1998, Women Helping Women campaigns have raised more than $1.6 million for equipment, facility renovations, screenings and health-care services for women. In 2013, Pardee Hospital Foundation's Women Helping Women campaign raised $135,000 to add to the on-going Women Helping Women fund for financial assistance for uninsured women for their healthcare needs at Pardee Hospital.
Nearly 1,000 women have received financial assistance from Women Helping Women funds since 1998. Our goal for 2014 is to raise more than $130,000 so more lives can be saved.
The Women Helping Women Committee is dedicated to improving the health of uninsured and under-insured women in Henderson County. Contributions provide screenings, treatments, services, improved facilities and new equipment purchases to meet the most critical health needs of women in Henderson County.
